Some knowledge is too heavy for children…

While she was a girl she asked her father, “Father, was is sex-sin?” He did not answer but asked her to carry a heavy suitcase off the train. She then said, “It is too heavy” He then answered: “Yes, and it would be a pretty poor father who would ask his little girl to carry such a load. It is the same way, Corrie, with knowledge. Some knowledge is too heavy for children. When you are older and stronger you can bear it. For now you must trust me to carry it for you.”

Corrie ten Boom, from The Hiding Place, p. 26
